sessions

Indoor or outdoor? Choosing the right photo session for your dog

One of the most common questions we get is “which session should I book?” There’s no wrong answer, but the right setting can make a big difference to how relaxed your dog feels and the kind of photos you end up with. Here’s how we’d think about it.

Indoor sessions: cosy, quiet and on home turf

The Snug Indoor happens in your home, using soft window light and the places your dog already loves: the sofa, their bed, the sunny spot on the landing.

Great for:

  • Senior dogs and dogs with mobility issues (more on photographing older dogs)
  • Puppies who aren’t fully vaccinated yet
  • Dogs who are anxious in new places
  • Cuddly, sleepy, sofa-hog personalities
  • Winter, when daylight outside is short

You’ll get: warm, intimate, everyday moments — the photos that feel like home.

Outdoor sessions: sniffs, splashes and golden light

The Outdoor Adventure takes place somewhere your dog loves to explore: a park, woodland, beach or favourite walk.

Great for:

  • Confident, social dogs who enjoy being out and about
  • Families who’d like to be in the photos together
  • Seasonal shots: autumn leaves, bluebells, summer evenings
  • Dogs with lots of energy to burn

You’ll get: movement, scenery and the joy of your dog doing what they love most.

The Pro Session: indoors or a private field

The Pro Session is our longest and most flexible option. It can be held indoors or at a secure, fenced private field booked just for you.

Great for:

  • Reactive dogs who need a space with no surprises
  • Dogs still working on recall who’d love to be off-lead
  • Multi-dog households
  • Anyone who wants the full gallery and something special for the wall

You’ll get: the most variety — zoomies, portraits, quiet moments and plenty of time for everything. Here’s why we love private fields.

Three quick questions to help you decide

  1. Where is your dog happiest? Curled up at home, out exploring, or running flat-out?
  2. How are they with other dogs and busy places? If the answer is “not great”, home or a private field will be the most relaxing.
  3. What do you want on your wall? Cosy everyday moments, adventure shots, or a bit of everything?

Our three-question quiz on the homepage will suggest a match based on exactly these questions.

Still not sure?

That’s what we’re here for. Choose “Not sure yet” when you book, or message us on WhatsApp, tell us a bit about your dog, and we’ll help you pick.
